The curious world of Elizabeth McGrath

I’ve been continuing my research into taxidermy and bone work in design and thought I’d share some pics of one of my favourite artist’s work, Elizabeth McGrath.

I’m always very taken by work that embraces the grotesque and the absurd, and her work is very colourful and visually striking.  Inspired by the relationship between the natural world and the detritus of consumer culture, she creates creatures from the darker corners of the streets, the city, the imagination.  And regardless of whether or not you like what you see, it certainly stays with you.
